What it is for

The project is the unit that reports. Every event belongs to one, and it is the project that carries the token, the quota and the platform.

What you record

  • Name: how it appears in the list and in alerts.
  • Platform: Delphi, Ruby, Python, Node, Java, .NET, PHP, Go, browser JavaScript, Android, iOS, Flutter, and others. It decides which sample snippet the screen shows and how the stack is read.
  • Quota per hour: the ceiling of occurrences stored per hour for one fingerprint.

The two tokens

Each project has two, and the difference matters:

  • Server token: stays on the server, never leaves it. It writes events and reads through the read API.
  • Public token: goes into the page's JavaScript, where any visitor can read it. It only writes events, never reads anything.
What meulog decides for you

Past the quota ceiling, the occurrence becomes a counter rather than a row: the error keeps being counted but stops taking disk. That is what stops an error loop from filling the database before anyone wakes up. The error screen shows how many were suppressed.

Deleting

You can only delete a project that never received an occurrence. Once there is history, the button disappears: deleting by accident has no undo.

What you should see

The list with the DSN ready to copy and the code snippet for the chosen platform. Paste it into your app and send a test error.
