What it is for

Recording which version shipped, and when. With that, meulog answers three questions that otherwise have no answer: which version this error debuted in, whether the new release made anything worse, and which commit matches this stack line.

How to record

Through the API, at the end of your deploy pipeline: version, environment, and the commit if you have it. One call, and meulog starts knowing the timeline of your releases.

The verdict

Once the settling period passes, meulog compares the window after the deploy with the one before and gives a verdict: the version is better, the same, or worse. It is not an AI opinion: it is errors per hour before and after, in the same environment.

What meulog decides for you

An error debut deploy is the last deploy before its first occurrence, in the same environment. It is a correlation, not proof: the error may be old and only triggered now. The error screen shows it as a lead, not as a culprit.

What you should see

The list of versions with date, environment and each one verdict. A deploy without enough occurrences after it gets no verdict, and says so.
